Advice
Posters
- True
600 dpi inkjet HP Designjet 3500.
- Paper
size is 1372mm x any length with image area of 1350mm.
- Images
should be CMYK.
- Resolution
lower than 100 ppi will pixelate and look blocky. It is recommended
that the resolution be between 100 and 150 ppi at the final output
size. So a 300 ppi image will become 150 ppi if in a document
that is blown up by 200%.
- Preferably
set up documents to quarter or half size or in pro to the final
size.
- Media
choices are 170gsm gloss, semi-gloss/satin or matt paper. Semi-gloss
is the most often used as it does not buckle.
- Scaling
A4 to A3 is 141%; to A2 is 200%; to A1 is 283%; to A0 is 400%.
- When
saving Photoshop EPSs dont include screening, or use
JPEG encoding.
- Pantone
colours are four-colour process simulations using manually configured
LAB lookup tables.
- JPEG
images may 'posterise' especially in highlight areas. Only TIFFS
and Photoshop EPS files should be used for poster work if possible.
